HEAL

Have you ever felt hopeless and overwhelmed when it comes to your health?

You are not alone. Before I tell you who I am and why I decided to help guide others on a healing journey, I would like to share what I believe.

I believe that we all want to thrive in this busy, stressful, ever-connected world. That, deep down inside, we know chronic stress is taking its toll on us, making us sick, and spawning disease. We are all constantly bombarded by toxins — in our food’s lack of nutrients, in our environment, and, sometimes, even from the people surrounding us. Many of us do not get the sleep or exercise we need, so we live on caffeine.

It shouldn’t be so hard to live a life you love.

I know how you feel. I’ve felt the same way. Maybe you have tried many, many different things before, and you still have not found answers. Don’t lose HOPE, help is on its way. (Now, a little bit about me and why I designed this website with you in mind)

Several years ago, I fell into a health crisis. I’d nap in the afternoon and sleep for hours each night, yet I was always exhausted. I had debilitating chronic pain. Migraines often kept me in bed for days. I could barely do simple daily tasks, including cooking. This was particularly devastating for me because cooking is my joy; it takes me to a happy place of creativity; it’s my love language. But, at that time, it was making me miserable. My body was so out of balance that I could barely eat anything without suffering some dire consequences. My hormones were all over the place. I was losing hair by the handful (and I’ve never had much, to begin with,) and my self-image took a real hit. All in all, it was a very sucky season in my life.

I was finally diagnosed with two autoimmune disorders: Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I dreaded it every time I had blood drawn because each result was worse than the last. Let’s just say I was often depressed. I knew instinctively I needed to let my food be my medicine. But how?

Research, discovery, and time.  My body became my lab, I learned how to listen to it and give it what it needed.  And allow time to heal, both mentally and physically.

Fast forward to today. I am happy, healthy, and whole — the way I believe God designed me to be.

We all live in very stress-filled environments, it is part of normal life. In most cases, we cannot escape stress, but we can improve our stress resilience. What I found were simple ways to build resilience. They worked for me, and many others with whom I’ve been fortunate to work.

Begin to Heal

Here are three tips you can begin applying today!

Supplement

Provide your body with essential nutrients. Most of our food, even organic food is deficient in many of the nutrients your body needs to function optimally. Here are some supplements that I reccomend.

Support Healthy Sleep

Be intentional about routines that support healthy sleep. Read this article about sleep and mental health.

Make Exercise a Priority

Gentle exercise is not only therapeutic, but can reduce stress and inflammation.
